Hi, I’m Jackie.

I’m a backpacker, kayaker, newbie mountain biker, and dog-mom to two adventure pups. As a passionate writer and outdoorswoman, there are two places in this world where I’ve always felt most like myself— inside my journal, and camped out beside an alpine lake.
An Oregon native and graduate of the University of Oregon, my love for the outdoors sprouted along the banks of the Willamette River. My fondest memories of home include time spent turning over river rocks to look for crawdads in the sand, and late night bike rides along the river path, listening to the toads croak under starlight.
During my time at UO, I spent summers working and living in a number of national parks. From 2013 to 2019, I was fortunate enough to explore Glacier, Zion, Olympic, Grand Teton, and Sequoia National Parks. These years turned out to be some of the most formative of my life. They taught me that my soul belonged to the mountains.
Eventually, my desire to live in a community and order takeout on a whim grew just as large as my desire to exist in utter isolation in the woods forever. When the time finally came for me to choose the place where I wanted to set down roots and rejoin the real world, I landed on South Lake Tahoe, California—an outdoor-lover’s paradise where reliable WiFi and a diverse array of takeout options are real things that can be had.
Today, I want to make a life that combines my knack for writing with my appreciation of the outdoors. As a freelance blog writer, I’m able to leverage my vast experience in the outdoor community to create well-written, relevant, and engaging blog content for brands and organizations in the outdoor industry. I bring my outstanding writing ability and extensive experience in the outdoors to all blog content creation to establish the kind of internet presence that will drive your customer’s attention to your website, rather than your competitor’s.
